QISS∙ME aims to revolutionize datacenter security by integrating Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) technology into datacenter switches, enhancing internal security against emerging threats. Through a chiplet approach, we seek to make signal interception virtually impossible, ensuring the protection of sensitive data within the datacenter perimeter. Our goal is to develop a compact, all-silicon QKD transmitter with a sub-mm2 footprint, capable of securing high data rates relevant to modern datacenter environments. By simplifying QKD receiver design and demonstrating real-world applicability, QISS∙ME bridges the gap between research and industry, ensuring a more secure datacenter infrastructure for the future.
